The seventh Washington International School Summer Institute for Teachers (WISSIT): Connecting DC Educators with Project Zero Ideas will take place from August 3-7, 2020. This annual high-quality professional development opportunity is open to educators in the DC area. Participants come from traditional public, public charter, parochial, and independent schools, as well as educational organizations such as museums and community-based early childhood centers.

The week-long intensive institute focuses on practical application of research from Project Zero, an innovative leader in the domains of teaching and learning for over 50 years. Given the impact Project Zero conferences and institutes have had on educators around the globe, we expect this week of learning to be a transformative professional development experience. Throughout the five days at WISSIT, participants will be introduced to and have the opportunity to try out ideas, tools, and frameworks developed at Project Zero. The learning continues into the academic year, as participants gather for workshops and share classroom experiences in person or through online forums.

The registration fee for WISSIT is $900 per person. A discount of $150 off per person will be applied to teams of three or more coming from the same school or organization. A limited number of scholarships are available for educators in Title I settings, or for students pursuing teacher licensure. The last three years, WISSIT has filled up by May.
