Leading your faculty has proven to be on e of the most difficult challenges of the pandemic. Consider embracing a co aching model as an effective tool to meet this challenge.
The goal of coaching is to increase individual agency for taki ng action in alignment with school goals and values. This three-part worksh op, led by Lorri Palko, Executive Coach and Facilitator of the One Schoolhouse “Building Trust with Faculty” co urse, will explore the four tenants of a co-active and collaborative approa ch to coaching employees – listening actively, asking powerful questions, f acilitating action, and inviting accountability. The sessions are timed to allow you to immediately test and implement some of the strategies you lea rned in the workshop, with the last session offering an opportunity to expl ore and reflect on how coaching can ensure a successful second semester. span>
Session 2 -- Tuesday , December 1st, 4-5 PM
In this session, the focus will be on how to forward the thought process in a way that moves the teacher from intention to goal-setting. Similar to our approach with stude nts, we want faculty to have a sense of agency for their learning and actio ns.
Session 3 -- Tuesday, January 12th, 4-5 PM
This final session will provide an oppor tunity to discuss observations and answer questions from your initial exper iences using the coaching model as a framework for conversations with facul ty. We will also explore ideas of how to set the table for the second semes ter of the year in order to continue to build trusting and empowered relati onships with your faculty colleagues.
No te, this is the second of three sessions. You must have registered for the first session to attend subsequent ones.
