This two–day workshop explores strategies to include students with learning differences in the writer’s workshop model.
Day One: The Struggling Student
The first half of the workshop focuses on the characteristics and challenges of students with learning differences across the writing process and within writer’s workshop. Together, we will analyze the writing process through the lens of a student with learning differences to better understand the challenges they face.
Day Two: Strategies to Support ALL Learners
In the second portion of the workshop, you will learn concrete strategies to help students during all stages of the writing process, from brainstorming ideas to revision techniques for students who “don’t want to look again”. Leave this workshop with concrete strategies to support students in your current instruction and classroom.
