The GDS professional development event is entitled “Power, Privilege, and Practice: Unpacking Our White Selves.”
This summer an inaugural cohort of 42 individuals will come together to engage in a curriculum designed to explore, examine, and employ the complexities of what it means to be a white educator in independent schools. The cohort will unpack the realities, dynamics, and uses of white privilege and develop a set of best practices to honor and uphold its mission as equity and social educators in school communities.
