Members of the Science Departments of Georgetown Preparatory School and Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart invite you to an evening of collaboration and collegiality with science teachers from the DMV area independent schools.

Science Solutions

Prep and Stone Ridge will facilitate four workshops to provide and to solicit ideas, experiences, and perspectives on teaching science effectively; attendees will choose two to attend. Workshops offered are listed below, and a full description of each is available here.

  • Helping Science Students Deliver Their Best Work: Best Practices for Rubrics and Providing Feedback – Facilitators: Joe Nardella and Joanna Caudle
  • Review Games: Using Play to Keep Students Engaged During Review Cycles – Facilitators: Yushan Bai and Kathleen Flood
  • Cultivating Curiosity in the Classroom – Facilitators: Joanna Scimeca and Will Robertson
  • Day One Lesson Plans – Facilitators: Tom Fenfert and Melanie Rock

To confirm, Brian Gilbert, Dean of Faculty at Georgetown Preparatory School, will be writing directly to all registered attendees. All attendees will be invited to upload lesson plans and other materials to be shared via Google docs prior to March 19.
