The Diener School Presents: “You’ve Got to be Joking!” Using Humor to Increase Social Interactions, Higher Order Language, and Flexible Thinking in Elementary School Students

Location: Har Shalom Social Hall, 11510 Falls Road, Potomac, MD 20854

April 6, 2017 – April 6, 2017
7:00 p.m.

RxDid you know that humor has multiple benefits?  Did you know that the development of humor has a predictable progression? The ability to use and understand humor is linked to social competence and the ability to be adaptable. Adults can not only model but systematically teach children to understand humor. Come to this presentation to laugh, learn and come away with (hopefully!) new jokes, riddles and ideas to teach humor to children and support their social and cognitive development.  This presentation is appropriate for parents, educators and allied professionals.

Presented by Dr. Noreen Buchanan, CCC-SLP
Head of the Diener School

Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 7:00- 8:30 PM
