Founded in 1914, Foxcroft School is a college-preparatory boarding and day school for girls in grades 9-12/Post Graduate. The school is located on 500 acres in Middleburg, Virginia, 50 miles from Washington, D.C. It is accredited by the Virginia Association of Independent Schools and the National Association of Independent Schools.
Foxcroft provides a residential learning experience in which academic excellence, leadership, responsibility, and integrity are our highest values. Foxcroft is known for its outstanding equestrian program, as well as the Exceptional Proficiency Program, which allows students to pursue their passion off-campus while keeping up with their studies.
Foxcroft is also at the forefront of STEM/STEAM education, inspiring girls to pursue vital fields of study. Science, Math and Arts faculty incorporate new teaching strategies, technologies, projects, and service learning into this curriculum. Facilities include a dedicated STEM lab, engineering workshop, several 3-D printers, Animal Room and interactive whiteboards in every classroom. The Read Observatory houses a Newtonian-Cassegrain reflecting telescope, two 8- inch Celestron telescopes, and astrophotography and solar-observing accessories.
Foxcroft offers 85 courses and 15 Advanced Placement (AP) courses, as well as academic support through the Learning Center, STEM and Humanities Labs.
Members of the Class of 2016 received 190 acceptances to 125 colleges and universities in the U.S. and abroad, including William & Mary, Smith College, Boston College, Vanderbilt, Rhode Island School of Design, Purdue, UCLA, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and NYU.
