In the words of its founder, Holton-Arms School is dedicated to the “education not only of the mind, but of the soul and spirit.” Our goals are to build confidence, integrity, and a love of learning that will prepare young women for a complex and changing world and endow each with a profound sense of respect and responsibility for herself and the community.
Holton’s Global Education curriculum, which prepares students to become agents of positive change locally, nationally and globally, is the natural expression of this goal. Across all three divisions, the School creates opportunities inside and outside the traditional classroom for students to explore the world, develop disciplinary and interdisciplinary expertise, recognize and understand multiple perspectives, and discover their potential to impact their own communities and beyond.
The School provides rigorous and dynamic programs in the traditional academic areas, the fine and performing arts, and athletics. Here, young women of diverse backgrounds can take risks, learn from mistakes, pursue opportunities for leadership, and build lifelong friendships. Holton-Arms is a vibrant community that values consistency and order as well as creativity and freedom.
School facilities include 57 acres of rolling woodlands, eight Wi-Fi enabled buildings, two academic buildings, two libraries, a performing arts center, 400-seat theater, black box theater, natural light art and ceramics studios, a state-of-the-art photography lab, four dance studios, multiple music education spaces, a double gymnasium, indoor competition-size pool, seven tennis courts, three athletic fields (including a synthetic turf field), a fitness center, and an all-weather track.
