Landon School

Since 1929, Landon School has prepared talented boys in grades 3–12 for productive lives as accomplished, responsible and caring men. Over the last 85 years, Landon has developed into the Washington, D.C., area’s premier non-sectarian boys day school — and we believe the Landon experience is unique in many ways.

Our academic program is designed specifically to prepare boys for college and for life. Landon’s innovative eight-day learning cycle allows boys to experience each class at different times for peak performance, and we employ targeted breaks so students stay energized and focused in class. With 26 athletics and 25 arts programs to choose from, every Landon boy finds his passion and excels!

We embrace the teacher-coach-mentor teaching philosophy. Our world-class faculty members are not only teachers: They are coaches, advisors and leaders who connect with our boys in multiple ways and find teachable moments everywhere — in the classroom, in the art studio, on the playing field and beyond.

We believe character education is the most important teaching we do. Our Code of Character defines our community with its Honor and Civility Codes. We inspire the boys to think and live ethically, instilling in them the values of respect and honesty that guide all of their actions and relationships with others.

Our 75-acre campus just outside of Washington, D.C., resembles a small college. It inspires boys to explore beyond the classroom in our libraries, art gallery, on our courts and fields, and in our newly renovated athletic and performing arts centers.
