Faithful to the charism of St. John Baptist de La Salle, St. John’s is an independent, Catholic preparatory school whose mission is to provide a quality education to young men and women from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. At the core of the St. John’s community are dedicated Lasallian educators who are committed to the academic, spiritual, cultural, and physical development of the students. Rooted in Christian values, the Lasallian experience prepares young men and women for lives dedicated to leadership, achievement, and service.
Our teachers encourage students to grow as individuals and to think critically and analytically about the world in which they live. With a 12:1 student to faculty ratio, students are known personally and receive instruction that is individualized. Our dynamic 1:1 educational technology program, featuring iPads provided by the school, allows students to learn, produce, and collaborate. We have a 100 percent college acceptance rate and the Class of 2018 earned more than $32 million in academic, athletic, leadership and ROTC scholarships.
We have invested more than $30 million for improvements to our 30-acre campus, including the Kimsey Science and Technology Center, Fitzpatrick Library, Cassidy Commons Dining Hall and the Donatelli Center for the Visual and Performing Arts. In spring 2017, the Cap Mona Student Center opened with a black box theater complex and a Lasallian Center for Mission and Ministry. Opportunities are endless, with 29 varsity sports and over 50 clubs. Unique to St. John’s are an elective Cadet Corps program promoting leadership and teamwork, and a cross-curricular Entrepreneurial Program. St. John’s students perform 27,500 hours of Christian service annually.
