Category: Community Events

Cecily’s Conference (formerly known as Cecily’s Advocacy Conference) is one of McLean School’s signature events, bringing together our community along with parents, professional educators, and mental health practitioners from the greater Washington area to showcase McLean’s commitment to child and family development. For the 15th annual Community Education: Cecily’s Conference, we welcome Meghan Leahy, who will provide the keynote address. A certified parent coach, and the “On Parenting” columnist at The Washington Post, Leahy is the author of the recently released book Parenting Outside the Lines: Tap Into Your Wisdom, and Connect with Your Child. Along with the keynote address, attendees can choose two out of the three workshops below:

  • Workshop 1-The Secret to Cooperation? Connection! How Understanding the Power of Connection Can Make (Almost) Everything Clearer, Easier, and More Joyful with Meghan Leahy, Parent Coach, Author, and Columnist for The Washington Post
  • Workshop 2- Gratitude and Forgiveness: A Path to Healing for Imperfect Parents with Dr. Sabrina N’Diaye, Psychotherapist and Founder of The Heart Net Center for Peace and Healing
  • Workshop 3- The Successful Launch: Parent Must-Do’s to Facilitate College and Life Readiness with Amye Fried, Co-Founder, Metropolitan Counseling Associates, LLC and Sally O'Rouke, Associate Director of College Counseling at McLean School
