Governance Fundamentals for New Trustees

Are you a new addition to your school’s board of trustees? Have you been on your school’s board for a year or two but missed out on the opportunity for board training? Are you a board leader interested in a refresher course on governance? If so, please join independent school veteran Jack Creeden for a workshop focusing on effective board governance. Recognizing the unique challenges of the moment, this session will highlight the partnership model of board leadership, introduce operating assumptions and best practices for trustees, and identify board behaviors that reduce effective governance. The workshop will include presentations, discussion, and opportunities for reflection. Registered schools will receive a recording of the workshop to share with colleagues who cannot attend.

This session is most appropriate for AISGW Member School trustees who are relatively new to independent school board work. However, seasoned trustees interested in a “refresher course” are welcome to join us.

Cost: $120 per school (to be invoiced after the event takes place).
