Leadership Practicum for Senior Leaders with Ted Fish
THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT! CLICK ON THE BUTTON BELOW TO BE PLACED ON THE WAITING LIST.
The job of an Associate or Division Head or any senior leader is uniquely challenging because it requires being both an effective leader and manager. Great leaders set vision, construct resonant messaging, define strategy, and craft culture. They perceive trends, pivot, and innovate. Effective managers, meanwhile, get the most out of the structures that already exist. They are defined by productivity, impact, and efficiency. Essential skills include:
- How to delegate
- How to run productive meetings
- Mediating, negotiating, and having other difficult conversations
- Conducting performance reviews that build accountability and inspiration
- Strategically shaping relations with their bosses (managing up!)
Each of our six sessions will focus on developing the essential skills above by collaborating in meaningful ways with peers as we practice tools drawn from the world of business but tailored to the culture and character of independent schools. Senior leaders can expect to heighten their confidence and competence in some of the most challenging aspects of their roles, all the while deepening their networks with other talented and aspirational leaders.
This program will meet on the following Mondays:
- Sept. 19th
- Oct. 3rd
- Oct. 17th
- Nov. 7th
- Nov. 21st
- Dec. 5th
Session one will be in person and will run from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Langley School. The remaining sessions will be held virtually via Zoom from 3:30-4:45 p.m.
This program is appropriate for associate heads of school, division heads, faculty, and academic deans, and other senior leaders.
Cost: $480 per person
