As educators, understanding how identity, bias and microaggressions impact the school workplace is essential to achieving our educational mission. The NPS Equity Institute is designed to engage, challenge and educate participants while offering resources and action steps. This robust one-day institute is for all educators, all grades levels, and all roles. 

Workshop Overview

• Examine your personal identities and the impact they have on how we show up in our working relationships at school
• Gain or strengthen your vocabulary and develop a deeper understanding of various types of bias and microaggressions in the school environment and their impact
• Learn how bias and microaggressions show up in the school workplace and how to recognize them 
• Recognize when you are contributing to, a recipient of, or a silent participant in acts of bias and microaggressions
• Learn strategies to mitigate biases and microaggressions and learn how to constructively hold co-workers accountable
